Our Treatment Process
Our Pest Control Treatment Process
A lot of people call us nervous about what to expect during a pest control visit. Here’s exactly what happens, step by step, so there are no surprises when our technician arrives at your Surprise home.
Step 1: Inspection
Every visit starts with a walk-around, inside and out. We check entry points around doors, windows, roofline vents, and utility penetrations, look for yard conditions that attract pests, like standing water, woodpiles, or dense landscaping against the foundation, and note any signs of existing activity, droppings, mud tubes, webbing, or nests. This tells us exactly what we’re dealing with instead of guessing.
Step 2: Treatment
Based on the inspection, we apply exterior barrier treatment around the foundation, entry points, and landscaping first, since stopping pests before they get inside is more effective than treating them after. Interior treatment is applied only where needed, baseboards, under sinks, or specific problem areas, rather than blanket-spraying the whole house. If you’ve requested pet-safe or organic treatment, this is where that preference is applied.
Step 3: Follow-Up
We schedule your next visit based on your plan, monthly, quarterly, or a custom frequency depending on the pest and severity. If you’re still seeing activity between scheduled visits, we return and re-treat at no additional charge. Pest control isn’t usually a one-and-done fix, consistent treatment is what actually keeps pests out long-term.
Do I need to prepare my home or leave during treatment?
For most general pest control visits, no. Treatments are applied to baseboards, entry points, and exterior areas, and it’s safe to be home during and after service. We recommend keeping pets away from areas being treated until any liquid application has dried, usually 30 to 60 minutes. If a specific treatment calls for extra precaution, like an interior flea treatment, we’ll tell you exactly what to expect beforehand.
Is professional treatment better than DIY?
Honestly, it depends on the situation. For a single ant trail or an occasional spider, a store-bought product might be all you need. For scorpions, termites, or an established roach or rodent problem, professional treatment usually makes more sense, since these pests require targeted products, exclusion work, or monitoring that DIY sprays don’t address. We’d rather tell you when DIY will work than sell you a service you don’t need.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a pest control visit take?
Most general pest control visits take 20 to 45 minutes, depending on property size. Specialized treatments, like termite inspections or rodent exclusion, may take longer.
Will I see immediate results after treatment?
You may see some pest activity in the days right after treatment as they’re exposed to the product before dying. Most customers see a noticeable reduction within a week, with continued improvement after follow-up visits.
What if I still see pests after treatment?
If you’re still seeing activity between scheduled visits, contact us and we’ll return to re-treat at no additional charge. This is included in all of our plans.
Is the treatment safe for kids and pets?
Yes, when applied correctly by a licensed technician. We also offer an organic and eco-friendly treatment option for households that want extra precaution around kids and pets.
